Quick update (is there ever a slow one??)

Someday I just want to go slow and ramble for hours on here….

Baby boo is up and keeping me busy, so this will be short. He is doing good — he is talking more since I’ve been home!! He also has not thrown up since I’ve been home (at day care he was throwing up every few days?!!!). We were ready to take him to an allergist to see if he had food allergies, it was happening so much. Now he’s home, boom, disappeared!!!

I have accomplished many household tasks — organized many cabinets and cupboards, rearranged living room, etc. Busy busy! I have SO much more to do. Mountains of clothes to put away in our bedroom – that will be today and tomorrow’s task. Today is a birthday party for DH, the big 4-0!! So we will be at his mom’s – she has nice parties for all of us in her home so that we don’t have to worry about them here (our house is tiny, like a closet, especially with us 5 in here!!)

Well, so I’m the busy SAHM and still hope to go back to college, but don’t know when that will be. I want to go for music therapy. I am hoping to do the prerequisites close by, and then the remainder I shall have to drive about 1 hour away to fulfil. THis will be years away, though, I’m sure!

I am trying to lose weight again — I have been overweight since a child but on and off diets. After RJ was born I haven’t really sustained any effort to lose weight – just now though this Tuesday I have gone back on a plan that I was on in the years before he was born. I’d lost 25 or so pounds then so I hope to have success again! I need to lose about 60 pounds. So far I’ve lost just 3/4 of a pound, but that was in 4 days 🙂

All for now, dori

RJ….

RJ had speech eval today and they want us to closely watch him and work with him a LOT as he may be a little behind. I was kind of thinking of doing some work at

home but now am reconsidering that. I think my hands might be full…. the kids are my priority!

This is a fearful area for us as Chris lost all his speech at 2 1/2. Ryan will be 2 on 2/22. But they said his play activity was great and that he didn’t seem in the least autistic. I’m just not sure I’m now going to send back him to day care at all right now – may just work with him at home intensely for awhile. The day care was able to take him on an as-needed basis so I could type at home. Well, at least I know that option is available if I need it!
Kiddoes – always something.

I have more to update but so busy….

One thing I did want to mention though is my grandma passed away on 12/30. We will sure miss her! She was 92 1/2.

children, health, sleep

Just been reading

for too long!! I have so much cleaning to do.

THANK GOODNESS my children are feeling better. It is such a relief — I have been sleeping and so has the family! 8 hours a few days in a row — yippee!

Easter eggs are starting to boil in the kitchen, and I’ve grocery shopped today too. The whole family went, and met my mom too, and she helped watch the kids while me and hubby shopped with 1-2 kids at a time 🙂 it was pretty fun!

My living room looks like an obstacle course that is also designed to trip you and break your leg…. that is my next project.

Ahh 3 kids. So much work, so much joy, so much exhaustion!

I wish I had time to write and write and write. But thankfully I type really fast and will try and write more often….

“Owen” is slamming himself in the head with his hand — why??? JUST when I said he was feeling MUCH better!

Been searching around for different additional friends’ diaries to read — it’s fun to see many different people and their interests.

Hi COLLEEN – think you’re the only reader I have right now — hope you are feeling good today — note from 2006 – this is a different Colleen than my daughter.

autism, children, health, sleep

I do exist still —

I think. We are so tired — all of us — our oldest has been ill and we are not sure what is wrong. He has autism as I mentioned before and he has been crying most of the time the last week. Drs. don’t know what to do. It’s sad and difficult. We love him so much but don’t know what to do. We are loving on Vanilla Coca Cola (me) and coffee (hubby) and just trying to get through it — it happens like this every few months and then it gets better.

Owen also is going to be evaluated to see if he has bi-polar disorder. We visited a psychologist today and she believes he may have that from our initial descriptions of him to her. So perhaps another piece of the puzzle of our beautiful but very mysterious son…

In my absence our baby son “RJ” also had ear tubes put in. He had 5 bad ear infections in 5 months. He is doing very well now!

Sometime soon I will finish the history I had started before, about meeting my wonderful hubby, etc.!

edit – reading this over again for a 2nd time – read the entire blog during COVID in Dec. 2020 and now am starting to read again, July of 2024.  RJ now known as Ryan is back to having ear infections again and we are going to try and get him to an ENT to find out why.  2003 to 2024, 21 years later, crazy.

Finally the big intro

maybe, if nothing interrupts me?

Right this minute I’m up waiting for my oldest son to go to sleep. He is autistic and often stays up all night. It’s 1:50 a.m. now, and my dh stayed up with him until 12:30 while I napped. Now I am up with him as DH was feeling ill and I wanted him to get some sleep.

I’m usually up by 5-6 a.m. with my little son who is 1. So often I get little sleep…..

Our children went to the doctor again today — I feel like I live there. I went there last week on Wednesday, this past Sunday, then just this Tuesday, and then today. 4 times in 8 days. Today my daughter got a strep test but thankfully it was negative! She is just recovering from a stomach flu virus too. My oldest was re-diagnosed with a sinus infection. So he started back on antibiotics tonight.
