I have also been contemplating returning to school to obtain a certificate in Medical Transcription. However, I'm not sure on the timing of all that yet -- would love to update my skills and knowledge of computers, business planning, the newest transcription information, etc. Having the medical certificate as well as the legal also would make me much more marketable. I have spent the year typing at home for different wonderful, professional companies, doing corporate meeting and interview transcripts. However, I believe I have finally found my niche typing legal transcripts almost full-time since October, for one company, and it is very steady and well-paying as well as fascinating work. Of course I also appreciate the time I have in the later afternoon and evening with family. We have homework time, and I'm trying very hard to stick to a household schedule!
Christopher is still at his same public school, integrated for music, art, recess, and lunch. He has grown much healthier this year and is thriving! He still is ice skating. Some of the digestion problems he had been suffering from have been resolved, and we praise God for that!
Colleen enjoys first grade and especially seems to like Math! She excels at arts and crafts and also is singing in the Kids Choir Christmas special at our church. She is still taking ballet as well most of the time and is learning it very well! Rog is a frequent guitarist for our church band now! He also plays the mandolin on a song which is a unique and wonderful addition! I am back in the choir after taking a break from January through September, but am not this year participating in the Christmas play. We do plan to go see it, though; it looks marvelous! Our choir will also be performing at Christmas. I did my first solo at this new church in July, and my second is scheduled 12/30&31. Our church has three services, one Saturday night and two on Sunday.
God has blessed us this year and continues to sustain us as we put our trust in Him. Roger has lost quite a bit of weight this year and I've managed to keep the 20 pounds off I lost last year but haven't lost any more (consistency!) We both feel much healthier and stronger.
I have a sad postscript that missed the printing of my newsletters, above, in the Christmas cards I've sent. My dad's brother Donald passed away on December 17th. We shall miss him very much. I know there was a glad reunion in heaven that day. The picture right below was taken by him in November. It is treasured....
Love, Roger, Dorene, Christopher & Colleen
